Dan started his career at the age of 16, working at the retail chain Focus DIY and later at the supermarket Asda. In October 2009, he embarked on his YouTube journey by uploading his first video titled ‘Hello Internet’. His path to fame began after winning the YouTube competition, SuperNote, in 2012, which led to him being affectionately known as the Internet Cult Leader.
On BBC Radio 1’s Sunday night lineup, Dan co-hosted the entertainment show ‘Dan and Phil’ with his friend Phil Lester. In September 2014, Dan and Phil launched their new gaming YouTube channel, DanandPhilGAMES, marking their venture into a new content genre.
